My partner and I are considering our options for buying a first home. What is the best approach?

Hi, my partner and I are considering our options for buying our first house. We both have LISAs and looking into the possibility of shared ownership. Is this a good idea or should we wait a few more years, save more and go the normal route?

Hi Ellie, if you've had the LISA's for over 12 months and are ready to move, then it could be a good time to speak with a mortgage broker to see your affordability capacity based on the whole market of banks and building societies.

Whilst the property market is very busy, with many properties selling for above list price (at least in the East Midlands and London) no-one will be able to predict the future, property prices, interest rates etc.

Usually mortgage brokers offer a free, no-obligation chat and some may not charge any fees to provide formal mortgage advice. All the best with your decision.
