Aegon Retiready Review

Holly's View

A straightforward solution from a big brand Aegon with just five different funds to choose from. Will suit people who want a hassle-free experience and value the security that comes from bigger brands. Noises from HQ suggest this service could be closed in future – not a key strategic priority for the group so expect it to lag peers in terms of development.

The 'Geeky' Details

Provider details

A straightforward solution from a big brand with just four different funds to choose from. This is good news for those who don't want to spend hours researching investments, but it does mean you can’t choose from a wide range of funds and can’t buy and sell individual company shares.

The focus of the site is more around pensions, but you can have an ISA too. The charges are around 0.88% a year all-in (so £8.80 on £1,000). This is mid-range for this sort of solution.

This will suit people who want a hassle-free experience and value the security that comes from bigger brands. The investments which sit under the Aegon bonnet are provided by US giant BlackRock which runs about $4 trillion of assets.
