Octopus MoneyCoach

Overall Summary

Octopus MoneyCoach offers financial coaching to people who want a helping hand to sort out their finances without the sometimes hefty price tag of regulated financial advice.

Owned by the same Octopus, better known for its energy business, this is a young, fresh business with some energy and determination to offer customers a different path to solving their financial questions.

What to expect?

Your first coaching session is free and you will receive some initial recommendations from your coach, personalised to your specific goals. Most sessions are held via Zoom but phone is also an option if you would prefer.

Coaching is not regulated advice – as such your coach can only guide, help and answer factual questions. They cannot tell you which products to buy or give you the direct answers.

If your circumstances are more complex or you're after advice when it comes to withdrawing from your pension, for example, then speaking to a financial adviser may be better suited to you.

What does it cost?

There are two options when it comes to costs. You can pay by direct debit which will cost £20.75 a month (with a 12 month commitment). Or alternatively, you can pay through your salary which will come to anywhere between £12-£14 (again, there is a 12 month commitment).

Other coaching options

Other options include Claro, a new service which combines coaching with a ready-made ISA. Or look on our Adviser Directory and search by specialism to find a financial coach who may be able to help you.
