These guys use a big ‘wholesale’ platform behind the scenes which means there are 2 mouths to feed and 2 administration contacts. This makes it expensive and also means that for many queries, Chelsea can’t resolve them but need in turn to get in touch with the engine behind the scenes. I don’t think this architecture works well for the customer.

This is one of the largest discount brokers still around – you can buy and sell funds, but there are no individual company shares available. The fund research is nice and it's one of the better sites for less confident investors who nonetheless want to read up on this stuff. But at 0.55% for the administration fee it's just too expensive for us to write more on. You could find a better lower-cost alternative elsewhere.
