About me
Since starting out as a financial journalist 25+ years ago I've had the chance to learn about all sorts of areas of personal finance and investing. I didn't start out with any prior knowledge though (or if I'm being honest, any particular interest in it). With degrees in English and Law this wasn't something I was formally 'trained' in when I started out. But it's a fascinating topic and decades on and having learned the ropes and spoken to and heard from my readers/audience I've seen first-hand how important good financial information is to everyone. I'm really passionate about sharing that knowledge and making sense of the seemingly impenetrable world of pensions, savings, investments and money, in general. I think it I can make sense of it and go on to explain it, then anyone can get it and use that knowledge to gain that all-important financial independence. I'm not a boring 'number cruncher' but I've had plenty of 'real life experience. I'm a mum, been married and divorced (and have the decree absolute to prove it) and when I'm not working or doing 'mum stuff' I'll most likely be wrestling socks out of the mouth of my very feisty fox terrier.
As a Boring Money ambassador, I am able to offer support and guidance on financial matters, but I am unable to give personal recommendations or advice.
