Bestinvest V Hargreaves Lansdown – trading charges
Bestinvest has the edge when it comes to overall trading fees. You pay £4.95 for trading in shares, ETFs and Investment Trusts ,compared to £11.95 to trade shares with Hargreaves. But Hargreaves offers free fund trading, so this will clearly be a much cheaper option if you're not interested in trading shares. Hargreaves' share-dealing fees are also reduced if you trade more than 9 units in the previous month.

At first glance, there really isn't much of a difference between the platform costs of Bestinvest or Hargreaves Lansdown. The former is 0.45% for shares and funds, up to a value of £250k, while Hargreaves is 0.4% for the first £250k (for funds, shares, ETFs and Investment Trusts).
