Can I invest with a one-off payment or is it always a regular sum?

Question by Shirley

I have little knowledge of finance and investments. I also have little funds. Just say I invest in one place for £10, is this £10 monthly or a one-off payment?

Hi Shirley,

It is completely up to you whether you choose to invest £10 as a one-off contribution or opt to invest £10 on a monthly basis. Most investment providers have the option to do one-off investments as well as regular contributions, however many of them have minimum contributions around the £25 to £50 range.

If you do want to get started with a £10 investment, providers like Monzo or Wealthify could be a good option, as you can start investing from as little as £1! Check out our shortlist of the top providers for low starting sums for more suggestions.

Good luck!
