Can my child access their Junior ISA when they turn 16?

My daughter’s about to turn 16 and I’ve been saving into her JISA since she was born. Will she get control of it now – or do we still manage it until she’s 18?

Hi Pat,
At 16, your daughter will gain the right to manage the Junior ISA. That means she can make decisions about where it’s invested (within the provider’s options), switch funds, or even change providers. You (as the parent) lose “registered contact” status at that point.
However, she can’t access the money until she's 18. That’s when the JISA legally becomes an adult ISA and she can then withdraw, spend, or keep investing as she likes.
Hope this helps!
