How can invest money online? Do I need an app etc?

Question by Christopher

If I would like to invest money, let's say 50 a month for a long period of time, probably over the next 10 to 20 years, how can I do this online? Do I need an app etc?

Hi Christopher,

Thank you for your question.

You can certainly invest online. most providers have very low minimums, often just £1.

You may want to search this site and compare providers. Alternatively, a quick Google search will bring up various options. Broadly, you have a few options:

Find a provider where you can self-select your investment funds/shares. if you feel confident doing this.

Find a 'robo adviser' where you'll complete various questionnaires and be guided into certain investments.

Seek advice from a financial adviser - However, it is likely your investments are too low for any IFA.

Most providers and robo-advisers will have an app where you can see your investments at any time.

Hope that helps for now.
