    Why is the FTSE rising given the level of UK debt and the ongoing pandemic?

    Hello,

    The FTSE is driven by a number of factors, at the moment the rise is due to energy prices. The FTSE isn't really representative of the wider economy. Many of the larger cap firms relate to, energy, tobacco, firms who have successfully released vaccines, online shopping, gambling etc. so these firms do well in a pandemic!
