Workplace pension default scheme extremely poor performance despite salary sacrifice just 4 % over 14 years. Day light robbery. Had I known what I know now I’d have moved but at the time there was no advice and somewhat tied as a company scheme. They rely on peoples lack of financial education.

As with most company schemes, lousy choice of investments and active funds expensive and underperform.

Excellent staff, whenever I've needed to contact them with a query I've spoken to someone knowledgeable and friendly.

Performance was very good. However it took them 7 months Jan to July to figure out how to payout the lump sum and the pension income from a workplace scheme that was built up over 21 years and had DB component ( stopped in early 2000) and a DC component. The market moved down in that time and lost about 20k in DC pot. Lesson learnt - start the process at least 6 months ahead of planned retirement date if you have such a mixed scheme.

Advice contained in scheme booklet is vague, confusing and incorrect. For example advises taking 25% lump sum is an option - it does not advise this option is only available if a Fidelity annuity is taken at the same time. Only found this out when applied for lump sum. fidelity advised scheme booklet is generic and doesn't contain advice relative to the scheme. Performance was poor - my fund lost 10% of value in the year leading up to retirement - it was a lifestyle fund designed to move funds to safe investments in the lead up to retirement. The funds Fidelity moved to dropped dramatically - with no counter-action from them. Very disappointed with investment performance, information and customer service. Complaint resulted in take it or leave it attitude.
