Boring Money's expert analysis
In general, the picture for April was largely unchanged in terms of what British retail investors bought. Tech funds and global shares funds continued their seemingly unassailable hold on the most-bought funds. The US still dominates but India gets a look in on two platforms, as the Jupiter India fund continues to attract money.
Perhaps surprisingly, since its gradual rise and seeming return to favour, the FTSE 100 and UK share funds don’t feature much. For those who are buying the main UK index, low-cost ETFs are the primary vehicle of choice, rather than funds. Finally as gold hits fresh highs, the BlackRock World Mining investment trust and the iShares Physical Gold Exchange Traded Commodity (ETC) were included in investors’ favourite picks in April.
