Are there any providers who reduce their fees for a family account?

03 July 2024

Question by Hiren

When opening a Stocks & Shares ISA/JISA account for family members, are there any providers who reduce their fees if more than 1 person in the same family has an account with them? A bit like multicar insurance or like a family ISA account?

This isn't typical. What we do see across the investment market is that fees often come down for larger account sizes - e.g. there might be a 0.25% platform fee for a Stocks & Shares ISA of up to £50,000, but this fee may reduce down to 0.10% for accounts worth over £50,000.

Fidelity, for example, has a blanket lower fee once your account reaches £250,000 - which means it's cheaper to invest with Fidelity if you have £251,000 on their platform than if you had £249,000.

In terms of providers which allow you to get family involved with multiple accounts, one of the foremost examples of this is interactive investor, which provides free accounts to friends and family of users who have paid accounts. Head over to our full interactive investor review for more details.
