Welcome to Visible!

1 Nov, 2022

Hi blog readers. It’s time for a big reveal and some jazz hands... Welcome to Visible!

Visible! is a four-in-one service designed to educate, inform and support women on all things money. Online courses, forums, ‘Messy Life Stuff’ and a panel of female financial advisers and industry experts to help. It’s been written and designed by, for and with, women in their 40s, 50s and early 60s.

Hey, why just women?

It’s a numbers thing! The Gender Investment Gap in the UK is £599 billion. That’s roughly the GDP of Switzerland. There are 6.4 million women investors and 9.7 million male investors. And it has not changed in years. It sucks! And what are some of the biggest reasons why? A lack of trust, a lack of confidence and a lack of perceived relevance.

The courses to get started with are Retirement Rocks, Sustainable Investing and Investment 101. But as well as the more geeky bits, my belief is that we needed something collaborative, a platform where women could ask questions from both technical money people, but also people who had been through the same experiences as us.

“Messy Life Stuff”

Our content pages will initially focus on six life experiences including divorce; dealing with life-changing health problems; juggling being a single parent or making a new career start. Thanks to many of our blog readers who became Founder Members and helped to shape the Messy Life Stuff and the course structure!

One contributor Gillian is no expert but she’s tackled the care home system and helped her Mum to deal with the money stuff, as her Dad suffers with dementia. Another contributor Lena is a financial adviser who shares tips on divorce, with a technical view but from personal insights too. And Leah Hardy’s honest conversation about cancer will – I am sure – help thousands of us trying to deal with it all.

Can you share with a friend?

It would help us hugely if you can share or forward to women in their 40s, 50s or early 60s you know who feel invisible to the ‘suits in the City’. We’ve tried to build something different. We hope you like it.
