Can you suggest any company that offer joint investment accounts?

Question by Stewart

Hi, My wife and I are looking to open JOINT managed investment account and to pay in by direct debit each month. We have spoken to a couple of companies who tell us that they don’t do joint accounts. We currently both have individual accounts with Bestinvest, which we will keep, but wish to diversify. Can you suggest any companies?

Hi Stewart, depending on the specific type of account you are looking at this may or may not be possible. If you are referring to Individual Savings Accounts (ISA's) then the answer is no, no provider is able to offer a jointly held ISA these can only be held on an individual basis (and this is a product level restriction, nothing to do with the providers). If however you are referring to something like a General Investment Account (GIA) then yes absolutely, many platforms offer jointly held GIA's. Platforms such as AEGON, Elevate, Embark, Hargreaves Lansdown all offer joint GIA's.

I have worked in Financial Services now for over 18 years after deciding very early on in my career that the role of a Financial Adviser was, to me, the perfect combination of numbers and people.
