Can you give me an indication of the likely returns for a cautious investor of my pension pot of around £500k please?

Hi David,

The annoying answer is "it depends"!

To give you an example I have looked at one (of many) cautious portfolios some of our clients are invested in.

It showed returns of 4.89% from 31.12.20 to 31.12.21. It also showed returns of 10.5% from 31.12.18 to 31.12.19.

Whilst an investor may be cautious in terms of how they feel about taking "risk" sometimes in reality their tolerance for volatility is different to this.
