Can you hold investment trusts in a Stocks and Shares ISA?

Hi.

Yes, you absolutely can and it’s probably the best way for most retail investors to buy and hold investment trusts – keeps them in this tax-free environment. Think of the investment trust as the ‘product on the shelf’ and the ISA provider (also known as a ‘platform’) as the supermarket. Administration fees can be cheaper if you use some platforms for investment trusts – check out our Investment Trust Hub for more info and the article on fees for investment trusts via certain platforms too.
