Best for Women Aged 55-64
Holly's ISA picks
By Holly Mackay, Founder & CEO
In our 50s and early 60s, retirement will dominate our financial thinking. And for many women this tends to come with a low level of dread and “if only”. Most of us haven’t saved what looks like enough. The average woman aged 55-64 will have an average of £116,000 across savings and investments in total.
Although pensions can be the focus, ISAs are a flexible account which you can take money out of at any time. And any profits you make in them are tax-free. So having an ISA alongside a pension can be very sensible.
Most women tell us they don’t feel confident about investing, they hate all the jargon and they want a sensible, mainstream option from a reputable brand which doesn’t cost the earth. I’ve picked out three ISAs which you might like, and assumed an average ISA balance of £40,000.
