Excellent and cost effective way to invest

Funds held hostage They won’t transfer me my funds back since I moved!! I opened an InvestEngine when I was a UK citizen and resident and used it with no issues for a couple years. This year I moved to Spain and had to close my account and transfer the funds, but they are unable to do so to a non UK account. However, I’m ineligible to have a UK account since I’m no longer a resident!! And I told them so! Customer service is also slow and they don’t have a phone number, only replying by emails and it takes them days. I wrote my first message 30/6, asked for documents to verify and send me the money on 1/07, and since then silence!! I have asked for updates almost weekly with no information. I have thousands in savings. Only giving it two starts because Natassia, the customer service rep has tried to be helpful, but this is ridiculous. InvestEngine transfer me my money back!!!!

Although Invest Engine is free for self managed ETF's, the level of customer service is shocking. It takes weeks to get a reply to your query through your account and even then, they do not fully answer the question. They do not have a phone line to speak to them and if you look on the review sites recently, they are getting really poor customer service reviews. Think carefully before giving them your money as they are cheap for a reason. Thinking about transferring to Trading 212 or some other platform provider. Latest email to them sent 06 June, still no reply to another follow up email. This was from a few questions/ queries I sent them in January 2026 and were never fully answered with email ping pong.

Used InvestEngine to consolidate all my old pensions, it was very easy to set up my SIPP and complete the paperwork on line for the transfers. If you create your own DIY investments you only pay the ETF fees which are very cheap, if you aren't confident in creating your own investments then InvestEngine have some funds already set up to enable you to invest in which are still a lot lower than most of the big pension providers. People need to realise that even a small percentage charge for fees can eat into you pensions/SIPP over time especially if you have a large sum invested, I only wish I was able to transfer my works pension to InvestEngine to save on fees, also I find that the work pensions tend to be over cautious with you investments. I have changed my investments with my provider, but they are basically supplying a well known ETF by a well known ETF supplier with their name on it and charging me for the privilege.

Excellent service to set up but once done far too many emails & notifications which are simply annoying after a while
