Low cost, mobile-only and easy on the jargon. Would suit newbies and the less confident, or those that want access to the UK's largest companies without expensive dealing charges.

This app is a nice solution for beginner investors or those with simpler needs. The fees are very reasonable and there is enough choice without it being overwhelming. Sometimes less is more. A nice option for those starting out – and also from a very credible established provider with a good pedigree and track record. Good for starter ISAs and Lifetime ISAs.

Dodl by AJ Bell describes itself as an 'easy-to-use no-nonsense investment app', focusing on a younger audience making their first investment. It aims to cut out all the jargon and fuss to make investing a simple, scare-free experience.
The app could also work well for users who are happy to have access to a limited range of shares and funds for a low fee, from a big name. There isn’t much investment analysis available but it is simple and straightforward.

Dodl is mobile-only. The app has full functionality, allowing users to view holdings, performance, trade, and learn more about both investing in general and how Dodl works.
The app includes a 'learn' tab where you can build your investment knowledge or get support from Team Dodl's friendly expert 'monsters' via instant message.
